GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Afrormosia wood grains are usually straight but sometimes can be found interlocked, with a fine uniformed texture and beautiful natural lustre. Heartwood is typically a yellowish brown, occasionally with reddish or olive hues.
DISTRIBUTION
West and Central Africa, and also in the Ivory Coast, Cameroon, and Congo.
COMMON USES
Boatbuilding, veneer, flooring and furniture.
DURABILITY
Afrormosia is rated as very durable in regards to decay resistance, and is also resistant to termites as well as other insects.
